Genreal FAQs

    • Research shows that early intervention for severe nausea and vomiting can prevent symptoms from progressing. Your care at Harmonia begins with an initial physician consultation to address the severity of your condition. An individualized care plan, and goals for treatment are discussed to ensure the highest quality of care. Your first consultation is 30 minutes and can be in person or via telehealth.  Please call or text the Harmonia Center to coordinate 732-538-5149.

    • You will receive intake paperwork via text message to complete before your appointment.

  • Harmonia is a dedicated treatment Center for Hyperemesis Gravidarum and severe nausea and vomiting in pregnancy.  We are a growing, specialized team of experts looking to compliment the care of your OBGYN. Harmonia is a Center developed to ensure that all mothers to be who suffer from “morning sickness,” to severe nausea and vomiting are given the highest quality of specialized treatment and protocols for symptom management. Early intervention, and continuity of care is a critical element in maintaining and improving patient outcomes. We are able track your progress and symptom severity weekly, through our online portal with the use of our HELP score. We will continue to assist you throughout your pregnancy on informed decision making, regarding your treatment plan and goals of care.

  • Harmonia is led by a highly experience emergency physician with over 10 years’ experience in providing exceptional patient care in critical care settings. Our nursing team has strong interpersonal communication and compassionate care abilities, as well as expertise in safely administering IV medications and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Our nurses are required to have over 5 years critical care experience or at least 8 years of labor and delivery experience. Our team strives to provide the utmost compassionate, individualized care, utilizing evidence-based practice and quality care based on the most up-to-date research. • We pride ourselves in the outpatient environment that we have created for our patients. We have thoughtfully curated a calm and relaxing environment to receive treatment. Our center overlooks the Navesink River and is drenched in natural sunlight.  Our center is exclusive to HG patients. We offer a private room as well as an open space where you can share and connect with other patients. Our treatments include IV fluids, IV antiemetics, IV vitamins, and Iron infusions specific to the needs of our patients.

  • Harmonia will not replace the care you receive by your OBGYN. If applicable, we intend to establish a relationship with your OBGYN, and share your treatment plan and medication regimen with them to ensure continuity of care. After the first consultation with a Harmonia physician, depending on the severity of symptoms, we recommend coming back 1-2x a week, for the following 2 weeks for IV fluids, and medication as per physician orders. Once you become an established patient, we recommend a monthly follow up with our physician to ensure proper management of medications, EKG and lab monitoring.

Billing and Insurance FAQs

  • We are not accepting insurance right now but will be in a few months’ time. For now, we are cash pay only but can provide you with a super bill to submit to insurance.

  • As said above, Harmonia will send your treatment protocol to your OB and establish a relationship with them to ensure the highest quality of care for both you and baby.

  • We welcome and encourage the support of just one individual to respect the privacy and comfort of others. We understand the importance of the support of family, friends, and spouses, and will accommodate as best we can. Currently, we do not allow the company of small children at the center due to safety concerns. We also ask that patients and their support system are mindful of others, and refrain from bringing food, and or sensitive smells into the Center.

  • If you experienced HG or severe nausea and vomiting in previous pregnancies, we encourage preconception visits to advise a treatment protocol to minimize symptoms. Early treatment is key and can prevent you from experiencing more severe symptoms and complications.
